The SwimOptimum.com Race Analysis app has been designed in conjunction with Nick Gillingham, Olympic Medalist and World Record Holder, to allow you to analyse your swimming races.

Races can be analysed using existing video files, or in real time whilst being recorded on your iPad.

The app has been designed for swimmers and coaches who are looking to understand the components of their races to determine where to focus for maximum performance gain.

All race distances, competitive FINA strokes (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle and Individual Medley) and Pool Sizes (25m/50m) are supported.

This intuitive app allows swimmers to capture race times by simply tapping on the screen as each race event (Start, Entry, Breakout, Turn etc.) occurs. The user can then fine tune the times and enter distances for breakouts using stills from the video.

Using this captured information, the app calculates velocities (both above water and below), stroke rates and other metrics to produce a Race Analysis report, the type of which has up to now typically only been available to elite swimmers.

Nick Gillingham and SwimOptimum’s goal is to help ALL swimmers at whatever age to benefit from the technology of the iPad. Being able to easily analyse races on Pool Deck will help swimmers and coaches to understand what they need to do in the next race.

No SwimOptimum.com account is required to use this iPad app.

However, SwimOptimum.com users are also able to upload race times to their SwimOptimum account, allowing them to utilize advanced reports to compare and contrast their results against previous races and other swimmers.

We hope you enjoy the app and find it useful!
